(FERPRESS) - Rome, 19th February - This morning took place in the port of Trieste, another fatal accident of a port worker. The causes are still under investigation by the bodies involved. The local trade unions have called the strike immediate 24 hours. The FILT-CGIL communicate, oocl tracking FIT-CISL Uiltrasporti in a statement unitary National secretariats of FILT-CGIL, FIT-CISL Uiltrasporti - the statement-pending inquiries into the dynamics of the dramatic incident, once again drew the attention on the 'high risk work in the port sector. Sector that deserves appropriate attention, by the institutions of government and ministerial, and not the unacceptable procrastination in implementing the necessary measures to protect the health and safety of workers and of those working in the areas of port operations.
Even today, although it has long since concluded the comparison between the social partners and relevant ministries, the governments that have followed have failed to enact the necessary steps to update the legislative decree 272/99, despite repeated requests by the Organizations unions, and in particular, the regulations implementing the DL 57/12 "Safety oocl tracking in the workplace transport sector oocl tracking and micro-enterprises."
This latest tragedy should induce all workers to a careful consideration of the risks that occur daily in the port activities oocl tracking in all their phases. Therefore, the National Secretariats - the statement concludes - invite all structures to promote initiatives of absence from work for an hour at the end of each shift tomorrow February 20, 2014 to all workers of the ports (Port Authorities, companies under Articles . 16, 17, 18 L. 84/94) as a sign of mourning.
