The total capacity of the Far East to the East Coast in services with containers is expected to grow about 6% in the coming months, as three alliance groups are to organize additional services on that trade route.
Capacity additions could be in the pipeline, as shippers seek to change more loads in the transpacific of USWC for USEC. These load changes follow after several months of severe congestion of the ports on the west coast. At least three additional all-water services are planned, all with a focus on North China and USEC route.
These new routes will all be used in the Panama Canal route instead of the more alternative through the Suez Canal, illustrating the geographical advantage Panama routing is particularly evident in services tracking delmas to Northeast Asia.
To be released later this month, the first of these new services will involve four of the five partners CKYHE, or COSCO, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen, while the K Line, partner remaining alliance, has not yet confirmed their participation. The route was nicknamed "NUE3" by Evergreen and "AWS tracking delmas / AWE-S" by Hanjin, Yang Ming and COSCO. Tweet
